December 15th
Our final fundraising event of the year was a Sunday Roast at 45 Queen Street and it was absolutely beautiful. Feeling extremely grateful to be part of such an incredible local community.
We have hit our fundraising targets and are now in the process of getting everything ready to drive down to Senegal at the start of February! Stay tuned…

We enjoyed a lovely fundraising Day at Trelya Community Kitchen. Thanks to everyone who came down and ate, drank, bought raffle tickets and hung out. We raised £620!
Trelya is an award-winning charity working to enable positive change in West Cornwall’s most under resourced communities- it’s an honour to have been able to partner with this incredible organisation and utilise their amazing restaurant.
Thank you Invictus Active for generously donating 10 pairs of wheelchair gloves, your support of the project is really appreciated.

We have ordered our chairs!
Fifty Wildebeest Wheelchairs are currently being fabricated by Participant Life. Lead time is 45 working days and then they will be ready for shipping to Dakar, with collection in Senegal estimated for the end of February-Start of March. Thank you everyone who has made this possible.
November 2nd
A massive thank you to everyone who supported our charity art auction last night, still working out the exact amount but we raised over £3,500.
It’s an incredible thing to be surrounded by such kind and generous people.
Thank you to the 21 amazing artists who donated their artwork, to our lovely bar staff and photographer and most of all to Jimmy at The Small World Gallery for organising such a special evening, you’re a legend!
We raised enough to pay for 11 wheelchairs which we will deliver to Senegal this winter, feeling very grateful.

Thank you Henry and Joel for taking part in our ‘Wheelchair Challenge’ and spending a full day using a wheelchair. It was super impressive to see these guys get in the water for an ‘adapted’ prone surf in crazy conditions at Sennen Beach!

Thank you everyone who came to our first Quiz Night at the Bookshop in Helston! Also a massive thank you to our wonderful comperes and the incredibly generous businesses who donated amazing prizes for the evening; @barbicanbistro @acornpenzance @pizzaplzzzz @patricks

We have completed our Healing Hands Match Funding! This means we will soon be able to withdraw our funds and order this year’s wheelchairs!
October 9th
Thank you Good Time Adventures in Thailand who hosted a fundraising evening with BBQ, raffle, food and a talk from the founder of Diam Rek. They raised an epic £425!
October 5th
Friends of the charity hosted a tapas evening and raised over £500!
September 27th
Thank you Trythall Primary School who recently raised £300, enough to pay for one wheelchair, with their ‘Diam Rek Day’.
August 24th
Two friends of the charity spent a sponsored day using a wheelchair in order to raise money and awareness. They raised an amazing £1000 which will be doubled using match funding and will enable us to pay for six chairs!

Thank you RossCare for donating £150 worth of tools to be used for wheelchair assembly and then given to our recipients so that they are able to independently maintain their chairs
August 3rd
Some of our team members spent a day learning the basics of Wolof, one of the main spoken languages in Senegal. Being able to communicate in the local language is integral to our project - jerejef to Tasha and Babakar for taking the time to teach us.

Congratulations to Diam Rek Secretary Simon who spent a full day using a wheelchair to raise money for our trip this Winter. £790 raised!!
July 24th
Thank you to Ross Care who taught some of our team members the basics of wheelchair maintenance; skills we hope to share this winter to promote independence for wheelchair users.
A massive thanks to some of our fundraisers who raised over £1450 by completing a sponsored walk in the New Forest!
